Jimmy's career began in 2020 as a two-year-old he qualified easily in 17.2.
His First Start was the "Jugendpreis" a traditionell race for 2yo in Berlin and he won superior in 15,4 together with Michael Nimczyk.
Jimmy's season as a 3yo was succesful so he became one of the favourites in Derby 2021. In the elimination to the derby he was 2nd, in the final he was hindered by a collision at the start and the dream of victory was gone. But Jimmy proved around 4 weeks later that he is one of the best horses in his year. The derby winner had no chance against Jimmy in Hamburg.
The 4 year old season began for Jimmy. Unfortunately we were very unlucky and he wasn't at 100% for every big race. Afterwards we decided to break our bad luck and give Jimmy to Italy in the hands of Alessandro Gocciadoro. Just 6 weeks after his last start, then the big comeback in the Breeders Crown. How could it be different, again against the derby winners. And Jimmy did it again! He beat the 2022 Derby Winner in an impressive time (12.0). He won the main race, one of the moments we will never forget. But look yourself here is the triumph of Alessandro and Jimmy in Berlin.
Vincennes, a racetrack where every owner wants to win once. In December we decided to send Jimmy to Paris, his team from Italy accompanied him. In the Prix de Decize, a race over the long distance of 2850m, he won in a time of 14.2 with Matthieu Abrivard in the sulky.
New year for Jimmy now he was 5 and gave his Comback on 12. March in Padua. He started in the Gran Premio Padovanelle with none other than the two-time Prix D'Amerique winner Giampaolo Minucci. Jimmy run this race through the outside lane and won with a dominant time of 12.4 over 1640m.
For us it was special that Giampaolo did the same thing with Jimmy as he did with Varenne; stand in front of the tribune and show him to the audience. A goosebumps moment for us. Now Jimmy proved that he can handle all distances, winning in the short distance, the middle distance and the long distance. In addition, he has already won in Germany, France and now Italy.
The next race was the Prince Carl Philips Jubileum Cup, in Färjestad. So we went to Sweden, in a race over 1640m Jimmy took the outside lane with one lap to go. In the final turn Alessandro applied more pressure and Jimmy ran home in a very strong manner and won. The victory was very impressive, then the winning time of 1:09.5! Jimmy was the second fastest German trotter of all time. Incredible, next win in another country: Sweden!
After this victory we got a wildcard for the GR I Paralympia Travet. Unfortunately, the race went completely against Jimmy and he came 6th. But despite everything, we were proud of him and would like to thank Abytravet for the great support. Nevertheless, one thing is clear, we definitely want to take part in this race again.
ENERGIMAS SPRINTLØP in Bjerke was scheduled for now 6-year-old Jimmy. How could it be different, before Jimmy's race there was a big cloudburst. Despite the bad and wet track, Jimmy won in an impressive 1:10.0 over 1609m. After Germany, France, Italy and Sweden, it was now country number 5, this time Norway, where Jimmy was victorious. Stay tuned for more races! Jimmy is in training by Michael Nimczyk.
After a long time in Italy we decide to take Jimmy back home to Germany his new Trainer are again Wolfgang & Michael Nimczyk. And Jimmy is back he wins in the Gold Edition Race in Berlin Mariendorf on a rainy and bad track in 12,7 over 1900m. What a performance !
Then it was time to go again on the biggest Track where you can win, Paris Vincennes ! And it was like a unbelievable Race & win from Jimmy Ferro BR and Benjamin Rochard. He wins in 13,8 over 2850m.
Merci Jimmy for the 2nd impressive win in Paris !
Track record & fastest race ever run in Germany
June 1st, 2025 – a warm summer day in Berlin.
Race day, the Gold Series over 1,609 meters. Despite a poor starting position, Jimmy Ferro BR took the lead after just 400 meters and dominated the race from start to finish. With a 5-length lead and the whip shouldered, the clock stopped at 1:09.5 over 1,609 meters.
This time beat the previously established track record by a full second. But this impressive performance became even more breathtaking – it was officially the fastest race ever run in Germany. Chapeau Jimmy & Michael !
